The dialogue between the XSole PTI insoles and the TRAXxs servers is bidirectional.
Insoles report following information:
- communication quality
- their battery charge level
- the number of steps
This ensures that the insoles are in working order and are worn. This is called active security.
Communication between XS Manager and insoles ...
A bidirectional communication
As an XSole PTI insole wearer or as an XS Manager, you communicate via the Internet with the TRAXxs servers hosted in a secure cloud.
When you use XS Manager (from a web browser or from the mobile application), you use the Internet access of your computer (via a Wifi or Ethernet network) or your smartphone (via the mobile operator's SIM card) . This access is very fast and the reaction of XS Manager to your actions is almost instantaneous... if you have the network of course.
XSole PTI insoles communicate with XS Manager using the GSM network (just like your smartphone does).
Communication is said to be bidirectional because it takes place in both directions:
- from insoles to TRAXxs servers
- from TRAXxs servers to soles
Sole response time
In order to optimize their battery, the soles communicate at regular intervals, the periodicity of which varies according to the activity of the wearer.
|Wearer activity or XSole PTI status
|2 to 3 minutes
|Deep sleep mode
This explains why insoles may have different response times to your settings in XS Manager, depending on the situation.
Remote configuration and real-time update
Setting insoles parameters can thus be done remotely
Updating the embedded software of the XSole PTI insoles can also be done remotely. Insoles must be charging in a location with a good mobile reception (GSM signal).
